fibonacci bun by pinkbunnilicious fibonacci bun by pinkbunnilicious
05/14/2010 I call it my "fibonacci bun" because the reverse spiral reminds me of that pattern. I have no idea how original this hairstyle really is, but I thought of it all on my own and I think I did a pretty good job (this being only my 2nd try!)

The lovely kanzashi flower was custom ordered from the talented :iconglompsomethingplz::iconhanatsukuri::iconlemmeglompyou2plz:
I just can't sing her praises enough! :la:

The Hairstyle is absolutely lovely *_* I wish I could wear it, but I guess I'll not be able to do this XD

But I've linked it to :icona-ka-ka: when I commissioned a picture of one of my OC, as a reference. I just thought, you would probably like to see the finished piece [link] :)

Saw this in my favorites again, and I was thinking, "oh, wow, that is a wonderful hair style..." and then, "and those earrings were such a nice touch. Awesome!!"

Oh pretty model~ consider yourself a talented hair person AND artist. ^_~

This is gorgeous! Do you have any hints as to how I might attempt this hairstyle on myself?

To me it looks like the Kanzashi is at the top of an inside out french braid that crosses the head and curls into a bun.... but how in the world did you create such a beautiful bun? (and hold it in place?)

Thank you for sharing such wonderful work displayed in such an interesting manner.

you have it just about figured out. :D it is an "inside out french braid", better known as a dutch braid. i parted my hair to the side, and started the braid on the other side working my way around. then i took the end of my braid, wrapped it around my finger, and kept rolling it up until it spiraled into a bun - then i used several bobby pins to hold it. it takes practice, but it's worth the trial and error! ;)

aha... i might need more than bobby pins (thick thick hair) but thank you for explaining it. I can't wait to try this out.
